California King Platform Bed with Storage Drawers | New York, NY

A Storage Bed for a New York City Apartment

Closet space is hard to come by in a New York City apartment, so this customer started with the bed. They chose a platform bed with storage in a California King size, finished in Black Matte with Diamond Chrome handles on the drawers. The low-profile base sits close to the floor and gives the mattress a clean, modern look, and there is no need for a box spring. Against the white walls and dark parquet floor of the bedroom, the black frame reads as a simple, graphic outline. Like all of our bedroom furniture, it is built with an engineered wood core and a thermally fused melamine finish that holds up to everyday use.

Four Drawers Built Into the Base

This California King storage platform bed with 4 drawers turns the space under the mattress into real storage. Two deep drawers sit on each side of the base, roomy enough for sheets and blankets, sweaters, or off-season clothing. Because the drawers are part of the frame, the bed takes up no more floor space than a standard platform bed while doing the job of an extra dresser. For a smaller bedroom, that means fewer pieces of furniture and more open floor. It is one of several sizes in our storage beds collection, which also includes 8-drawer ultra storage models.

A Tall Wardrobe Completes the Delivery

The same delivery included a tall white matte wardrobe, with a hanging rod, a stack of three interior drawers, and three exterior drawers along the bottom. It adds full-length hanging storage that a single reach-in closet could not provide. If you are looking for something similar, our wardrobe closets come in many sizes and drawer configurations. Both pieces are freestanding, so they can move with the customer when it is time for a new apartment. Contempo Space delivered and assembled the storage platform bed and wardrobe at the customer's New York, NY home.
